San Fernando Valley Candidate - Rent Control Pledge

As a candidate for office in the new Valley City, I agree to the following:

I pledge to protect the rights of all renters living in the boundaries of the new Valley city by enacting the
existing rent control stabilization ordinance on the same basis as those currently in effect in the city of Los Angeles.  I further pledge to continue the ordinance on an ongoing basis beyond the transitional grace period created by the LAFCO resolution.

I declare that I will take this action at the first City Council meeting on the first day of the new Valley City Council July 1, 2003.
